Browser Game Privacy: Cookies, Local Storage and Advertising

Understand the difference between local game preferences, server logs, cookies and third-party advertising technologies.

Local storage is not the same as an account

OnTrick can remember favourites and sound settings in local storage. That information remains in the browser on that device unless the browser data is cleared. It is different from creating a user account stored on a website server.

Normal server logs

Web hosting systems commonly log requests for reliability, security and troubleshooting. A log may contain an IP address, requested URL, browser information and timestamp. The exact retention depends on the hosting configuration.

Cookies

Cookies are small values a website or third-party service can store in the browser. A basic game does not need an advertising cookie to move a character or calculate a score. Advertising, analytics and consent systems may use cookies for separate purposes.

Advertising services

If Google AdSense or another advertising provider is enabled, those services can process data under their own policies. Visitors should receive the notices and consent choices required for their region.

UK and European consent

Advertising rules can require a consent management platform before personalized advertising is served to visitors in the UK, European Economic Area or Switzerland. OnTrick's site operator is responsible for enabling an appropriate certified consent solution when monetization is activated.

Your browser controls

Browsers provide settings for clearing cookies, site data and local storage. Privacy extensions can also affect how third-party scripts behave. If a feature stops working after strict blocking is enabled, test the site with the relevant browser setting reviewed.
