About OnTrick Maths

OnTrick Maths is for the moment when you know a formula exists but you are not sure what to do with it. The aim is simple: show enough working to make the next question easier, not just finish the current one.

What you will find here

The site currently concentrates on percentages and ratios, algebra, and geometry. Lessons use small worked examples, short checks and notes about the mistakes that tend to change an otherwise correct answer.

How to use a lesson

Read the opening idea, cover the worked answer and try the question yourself. Then compare the lines of working. If your route is different but mathematically sound, that is fine; maths often has more than one sensible route.

Accuracy matters

Examples are checked by working them through and, where useful, checking in a second way such as substitution, an inverse operation or an estimate. If you spot an error, send the page address and the exact line that looks wrong so it can be reviewed.

Who publishes these explanations

OnTrick Maths is the publication responsible for these learning pages. A publication byline does not imply a teaching qualification, an examination-board endorsement or a claimed number of years of experience. Named contributors can be identified when their details are supplied and verified.

Use the contact page to report an error with the page address and the specific calculation. Examples use invented quantities for learning; commercial or tax rates in exercises are assumptions, not current product or tax advice.
