Converting Area Units Without Forgetting to Square the Scale Factor
Because area is two-dimensional, you must square the conversion factor.
Since 1 m = 100 cm, it follows that:
1 m² = 100² cm² = 10,000 cm²
So to convert 2.4 m² to cm²:
2.4 × 10,000 = 24,000 cm²
Going the other way
To convert 7,500 cm² to m², divide by 10,000:
7,500 ÷ 10,000 = 0.75 m²
